Welcome to the Beginner Basics Part 2 course.

About this course.

Isabella’s beginner classes are some of the most popular around.

Her attention to detail is what attracts so many of you to learn from her. Now here’s your chance to learn from her in the comfort of your own home.

In this course we will be covering some of the key fundamental positions of the feet, hands, arms, directions of the body as well as centre exercises leading into small foundational jumps.

This is the perfect tool for beginners to do their homework and gain confidence.

Ballet requires a lot of refining and work behind closed doors. This is your tool to practicing behind closed doors in order for you to show up to your next ballet class more assured of the movements

Course breakdown.
Beginners Basics Course – Lesson 1

In this lesson Isabella will be teaching you how to hold the arms, hands and fingers as well as take you through the fundamental position of the arms, learning ports de bras and practicing with music. Arms and hands in ballet are so important, they need to be soft, fluid, supported and beautiful Let’s practice!

Beginners Basics Course – Lesson 2

In this lesson we will be learning fundamental centre practice! Including Directions of the body, Pirouette preparation, Adagio and more! All of these elements take a lot of work. If you find you feel weaker in some areas the online studio is there to help you. Keep coming back, trying again and overtime see your improvement. Isabella encourages you to come back to this lesson again and again to refine and improve each time.

Beginners Basics Course – Lesson 3

In this lesson we will start to learn linking steps which will come up in some of the first classes you take. Linking steps are sometimes more important than the step or position itself. Without good linking steps, our movements can look a little clumsy which will make the position or step we are leading into not as effective. Word of advice for linking steps, practice and more practice. Let’s start!

Beginners Basics Course – Lesson 4

In our final lesson we will be covering jumps! Ballet jumps are very fun to do. If you find you are struggling to pointe your feet, try the feet courses and slow beginner barres train the feet more and more. As you push off to jump, we need soft landings, soft knees leading into a strong push off! Let’s learn some key fundamental jumps. Notice as you progress with practice that your jump get’s lighter, higher and stronger!

Founder

​Isabella trained at The Royal Ballet School and then became the first British girl to join the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Saint Petersburg at 15 where she studied for 4 years. She joined the Mikhailovsky Ballet in Russia as a soloist and later danced with Eifman Ballet.
