In this beginners pointe class, we focus on developing the foundational strength and technique necessary for strong pointe work. The exercises are designed for proper alignment, control, and strength. Most of the class centres around barre work with some exercises in the centre on two feet.

- Not for students who have never been on pointe before

Meet your teacher:
Suvi Honkanen is a dancer from Helsinki. Suvi began dancing at the age of 3 and studied at the Helsinki Dance Institute’s specialized training program as well as at the Boulder Ballet School in the USA. She completed her professional dancer training at the Finnish National Opera Ballet School and also studied at the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg under Irina Sitnikova. After graduating in 2010, she was hired by the Finnish National Ballet, where she danced for nine years in both classical works and contemporary dance repertoire, after which she has been employed as a freelance dancer internationally.
